Silk Painting Practice

Intermediate Painting Project Two

Done on silk with silk paints.
And given requirments for the shapes and such.

I love this, its just so brilliant.
I mean cmon! Painting on silk is AMAZING!

We all got a free practice silk in painting and we had to configure shapes and angles and our name [mine says STEPH on the left side] with a border and everything.

So basically, we drew our pic on a white sheet of paper, then we washed out silks and hooked it onto our wooden boards. Then, we used a substance called Guda [yay fun word!] to outline our drawing on the silk. Guda basically makes it so that you can paint in spaces, and not have the paint flow to unwanted places..cause it likes to flow alot

Sadly, as you can see my guda was old so my colors leaked in afew places =[

When we were done my teacher then steamed them, and then we washed them to get the excess color our and dipped them in gewy amazingly soft fabric softener. XD
